April 24
Bueno. Les cuento.
So
this week was really great. Loads of missionary work. Some baptismal
interviews for other elders. Staying inside all day during the Census
because we couldn't leave and (can I get a drum roll?) Mission conference
with President Nelson.
No me cabe ni una duda que es un Apostal del Señor.
No
doubt what so ever that he is like any of the Apostles that lived in
the primitive church. He is so fantastic. We all, the Chile Concepcion
and Concepcion south mission, had the opportunity to shake his hand. As
we orderly walked up by row and shook his hand he looked me in the eye
and said "Hi Elder Miller" Just like that I felt the spirit. Just a look
and three words and I felt the love that he has for the missionaries
and for me personally. I ask you to imagine the Savior and what it
would be like to be able to see him and shake his hand. If you have
lived righteously he might say something like
"Come unto me ye blessed, for behold, your works have been the works of righteousness upon the face of the earth?"
"Come unto me ye blessed, for behold, your works have been the works of righteousness upon the face of the earth?"
What a blessing that will be.
In
the Conference we also heard from the area presidency, Elder Packer,
the son of the apostle, Elder Texeira and their respective wives. As well
we heard from our mission presidents and their wives. It was wonderful.
President
Nelson asked a question in the conference that hit me deeply. It was
something like this "What Doctrine or knowledge would you not have if
you had not ever read or heard of the book of Mormon." At first one
might think that it is a relatively insignificant question as I thought
about it I realized that my life has been blessed a whole lot by the
book of Mormon. I remember learning from young age about how you are in
the service of your fellow bring that you are in the service of your god
and how that was a strong motivator for me at a young age. I also think
of the knowledge of our savior that we have because of the book of Mormon. The Doctrine of baptism and how the savior has asked us to
baptize. How children as saved by the atonement of Jesus Christ and the
list goes on. I love the book of Mormon. I love president Nelson. I will
now end with a quote from him.
"Study your book of Mormon and you will understand your Bible"
Love,
