Just so you know I have made it to my first prep day. My flight was good and I flew over with twenty three other missionaries. It was comforting to be with so many people because it was hard to get lost with that big of a group. When I arrived I found out that there are ten other people going to my same mission in my "generation" at the CCM. Just so you know CCM= MTC. I was put into the dorms but right now my companion Elder Smith and I have the dorm to ourselves. There was another group of elders there but they left yesterday. Elder Smith is from California. I was really lucky and I have such a great district. Other than myself there is Elder Cederstrom from AZ, and his companions Elder Bauserman from Southern Virginia. There is Elder Cornwall from Nevada and his companion Elder Thatcher from Northern Virginia. He was actually right by where Lina lived but he went to the normal ward instead of the singles ward. He lived in Utah while lina was there anyway. Our District Leader is Elder Hannafin from CA and his companion is Elder Shroeder ( I think I spelt that wrong.) from Utah as well.
Things
here are going well. I have been really getting better at spanish and
can almost teach a lesson well enough to actually be proficient. I have
no doubt that by the time I am out of here I will be able to teach and
be prepared for the field. When I first got here they were still
remodeling cafeteria but today it re-opened and it has good food. The
time that every missionary looks forward to is meal time, gym time and
devotionals because at all other times you are so focused on learning
the gospel, your language and basically everything else you could
possibly need to know about being in the mission field.
We
got to go to the Mexico city temple today, well actually just the
visitors center because the temple is currently closed to have
renovations done. I think something to do with the foundation but I'm
not sure. It was cool though and we got to play around on the touch
screens and look at the temples from all around the world.
I really don't know what else to say...
